Privacy Policy

What we collect
- Account details — name, email, phone, and (optionally) age, so we can run your membership and call to confirm orders.
- Addresses — billing and shipping address, used for delivery and invoices.
- Library records — your orders, loans, returns, payments, deposit status, ratings, and notes. A lending library must remember who has its books!
- Emails we send you — order updates, due-date reminders, receipts.
We do not collect card or bank details — payments happen directly through your UPI app. We do not run ads or sell your data to anyone, ever.
How your data is used
Only to run the library: confirming and delivering orders, collecting payments and the refundable deposit, sending service emails, recovering overdue books, and keeping simple records the law requires. That's it.
Who processes it
- Supabase — our database and login system (hosted in Mumbai, India).
- Vercel — hosts this website.
- Resend — delivers our emails.
Retention & your rights
- We keep records while your membership is active, and payment records as required by Indian law.
- You may ask to see, correct, or delete your personal data at any time — WhatsApp us at +91 98814 74184. Deletion requests are honoured once all books are returned and dues settled.
- For members under 18, a parent or guardian may exercise these rights.
Security
Access to data is protected by row-level security in our database — members can only see their own records, and only the librarian sees the desk. Passwords are handled by Supabase Auth; we never see or store them.
This policy is written with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 in mind. We may update it; material changes will be announced on the site or by email.
